What a lovely weekend

Gorgeous weather this weekend had us packing the dogs into the car and heading off for Seven Sisters near Eastbourne for a lovely walk to the beach. We followed the river at Cuckmere Haven, enjoying the wildlife along the way - especially the little white Egret who seems to live there! It was really hot and everyone else had shorts and t shirts on so we felt overdressed in jeans on that October Saturday afternoon! Alfie and Meg had to be on leads for the first part because of the sheep but then had a wonderful time sniffing about and running around on the beach while we sat and just watched the sea, filled our lungs with wonderful fresh air, and just unwound. Wonderful!

Oh I am so happy!!!

Its taken another 3 hours today, but finally, you can see the new website.

Its the first time I have been able to update it myself for over 2 years since I changed computer and lost all my files. I am incredibly grateful to Keith of MawsPaws who has been looking after it for me in the meantime, but now, Big Girl! I can do it myself again!!

Please have a look - its very simple for now and I am too scared to mess about with it again today, but its a start! You can see all the new bears too.

Website updating frustration

Hello again

I am completely frustrated with my website - I just CAN'T upload the new bears to it so it is destined to remain out of date unless a knight in shining armour comes to my rescue!

In the meantime, I have been busy.

We had the most fantastic holiday ever, in SW France, close to Dordogne, Toulouse, Pyrenees sort of area and you just HAVE to go! www.salazarholidays.com and its even more amazing than it looks on the website.

More about that in another post though - for now, I have some new bears to introduce.

It is Hugglets Teddy Bear Festival on Sunday 12th September at Kensington Town Hall, London and it would be lovely to see you there if you are planning to go. Do come and say hello - top of the stairs right by the refreshments.

Well, at last I have both time and creativity back again and yesterday I was delighted to spend some time at my bear making table in my bear making corner, and finally get started again.

I am beginning with two fun little Warren Bunnies - one is white and lavender and the other is pink and pink!! They will be little handful ones and hopefully ready to show off for you soon. It felt so good to get my hands in the mohair and the stuffing again, and this afternoon maybe I will even venture to needles and threads!

Life has been full and fun, with exams and trips to the beach in this gorgeous weather we have been enjoying, seeing friends, doing lovely soothing treatments for lots of people, and tonight - Cinders is off to the Ball! The Grosvenor House Hotel in London no less! So I am looking forward to that, and just thinking that maybe I have left it a bit late to think about getting hair and nails done as its lunchtime already. Why didn't it occur to me last week to book something! Oh well! Posh frock and high heels - that will have to do!

Anyway, I would rather be making rabbits today than sitting being fussed about! Come back later in the week and you may get to see one!

Time has flown whilst I have been having fun!

I have had a really busy, but wonderful, few months and here is a quick taster of whats been going on.......and before you get excited - absolutely NO bear making (sorry!)

We had 2 brilliant weeks with the Changfeet staying here. So many laughs and special treats, and now - very happy memories - despite Alana's swine flu episode!

We 3 girls had a great day out at the Radley shop, Liz Earle shop and then afternoon tea at the Dorchester (as you do!!) and we had a great evening out seeing Evita too. We joined with Vicky and Vianney for a day out in Bath and there were many fun evenings and silly games played too. Come back soon Changfeet, we love you! ♡☺♡

(and I am still trying to persuade Janet to start making her lovely Changle Bears again)

Meg is still as obsessed with her pond as she was last year. Much to Alana's disappointment, despite waiting with the camera for hours, she didn't oblige and fall in that time, but we got some sweet pics.

Andrew went off to Mexico at Easter with Urban Saints and Amor ministries on another house building mission and here is his finished house. We are so proud of him for all his amazing work fundraising, and then the actual build too. A family are happily living in it already.

I have been studying hard trying to get my head around chemistry for my aromatherapy qualification, but loving doing the treatments with all my wonderful essential oils. Its like being a witch!!! (well thats what my minister thinks anyway!)

And now I am a grand old lady of 50 having just celebrated my Birthday in the most beautiful place in the world, the Lake District. We had a lovely week, with gorgeous weather, lots of wonderful walks, red squirrels visiting most days, new born lambs all around and the gorgeous scenery and lovely food that makes it all so special up there!

And best of all was the knock on the cottage door on the afternoon of my Birthday and there were my children to see me!!! It was the most amazing surprise and treat ever! I am still stunned.

So thats why I haven't had time to make any bears for months!!

I promise to make one as soon as I can understand the chemistry and have learned all about the essential oils. SOON I hope!

Sadly I am not able to be at Hugglets Winter Bearfest next weekend. I always need the assistance of Keith to get there, set up, clear up and get home again and he is away so not able to do all that.

There are 4 new bears and I hope they will be up on the site this weekend, but just in case, here are their pics. The reason they are all looking up is that it had just started snowing and you can just see snowflakes on the cover they are sitting on!!

I am really excited!

It is a while since I bought a new bear, and there are rarely any bears available from multi award winning Donna Griffin of Donna and the Bears so when I saw that she was auctioning 3 bears in aid of the appeal for Haiti earthquake survivors it seemed a good time to buy one.

He is on his way from Carolina now and should be here in a few days.

Here he is - Richard! The three bears are named after the Top Gear presenters, so I got the hamster!

Isn't he lovely? He will be coming to join little Dibley who I have had for just over a year now and love to bits. You can see him on her site, on the bear gallery.

I still haven't finished my little gold bear yet. I never seem to get much time to spend bear making at the moment, it is very frustrating. I will post his pic in a day or two when he is finished I hope.

It feels so good!

I finally started making a little bear today.

I just don't seem to have had the time and space to get near my sewing table for weeks and have been busy with so many other things. It was wonderful and I really enjoyed getting a couple of hours peace (well there were lots of interruptions but I soldiered on!) to get started on a little gold bear. Pics will follow when he is finished.

In the meantime, here are the same dogs who were charging round in the snow chasing sledges and riding on them!

I just had a very annoying few hours!

My friend told me he had updated my site, but when I looked it wasn't any different.

I tried everything but still got the old pics up and not the new festive opening page.

I knew it was there but for some reason I was just getting the page that

has been there for months.

So, I refreshed the page over and over, I deleted cookies, history,

bookmarks, more history, everything!!

Then I found a button to DELETE CACHE and lo and behold,

there was my new exciting page with the new bears on it too.

I don't know what it means and hope I haven't messed anything up but

at least I can see the new photos now!!

So if you aren't getting the festive vibe when the home page opens up,

maybe yours is stuck somehow too. They ARE there. I promise!!

Thanks Keith, you have done a lovely job as usual with the site!

YEAY!! I made a bear today!

Its been SO long since I have been able to and it felt so good.

I have been busy with my other job (holistic therapist) and away on a training course for therapeutic massage, so it was lovely to chill out and make a lovely little bear.

She is a sweet, white little handful bear with mulberry pads, hat and bow.

It was too dark when I finished her to be able to take a photo but I will post one tomorrow.

It's nearly a month since my last post, sorry.

I had to come back early from Japan unfortunately because I was so unwell, and it took a long time to recover. I think it had all been too much having had swine flu and a serious chest infection whilst still trying to prepare for the trip and then fly out there. Oh well. I tried!

Well more bears made and more bears have found new homes!

The bad news is, I have gone down with shingles today. I started to feel unwell yesterday evening and by today it got worse and worse. I knew by the afternoon that it was definitely shingles and am feeling very ill. So that's a bit awkward to say the least!

After the Typhoon

Well I am delighted to report that the dreaded typhoon which decided to come early and was forecast for last night, then also chose to swerve away from Tokyo at the last minute and hit them further up north. Sorry for them, but very relieved for us. It was still a very wet and windy night although Reiko and Yuki slept through and didn't hear a thing, I only got 1 hour sleep so its been a bit of a jet lag day again. I am very relieved though. It was still very windy earlier on, but cleared now, and all is well!

The lady who tried to climb on my shoulder to watch me sewing the other day, came back again today. I think she is lonely and likes to chat which is amusing as I don't do Japanese and she doesn't do English, but it doesn't seem to stop her. She is fascinated with my hands and keeps grabbing them and squeezing them for some strange reason. Big Ben, the bear I made yesterday went happily off with some new owners today, so that was nice.

I had quite a few nice chats today with people who DO speak English (and some English people too!) and one lady of 80 had just decided to learn it, and was amazing already. So it was a busy day and I didn't get a bear finished today, so will have to work harder tomorrow. And on that note, its time to get some sleep.

I thought I would upload a few pictures from the British Fair at Mitsukoshi in Tokyo for you to enjoy and see where I am and what I have been up to.

(A name that sadly proved very hard for them to say.)

Here are the 2 new bears so far.

The one in the blue duffle coat is Big Ben and the other is Marlborough (another tricky name for them!) He looks a bit cross in the picture but its just cos his fringe is squashed down.
This is Reiko and Yuki, the two ladies who are selling the bears for M's Collection here and looking after me so well.

She said "Hallo" so nicely too!

The typhoon is scheduled for 3pm tomorrow (Thursday 8th) so I hope I will still be here to let you know what it was like! I had an encouraging email from a friend who said he was here in a 45 second earthquake that knocked his beer on the floor and broke a fish tank of piranhas in the restaurant (I presume they are no threat floundering on a dry floor!!) and the local people took it in their stride so I hope they look after me tomorrow. I feel like its having earthquakes all the time. Its a strange thing I always get with jet lag, feeling like the world is rocking and swaying. I know it isn't cos I keep checking all the cabinets around me and they are all very still and not shaking but I swear they should be, it is rocking so much!

And all without the aid of drugs

(well apart from anti biotics but I don't think they can do anything exciting like that!)

Today was fairly quiet - still raining constantly - and I was able to try out the umbrella machine. Everyone here has an umbrella, even just about every man you see, and at the shop there is a special gadget that you put it into and it wraps your brollie. Its just like the Christmas tree wrapping machines and I felt that it ought to be tried out whilst I am here!

So I did!

Well hello from Japan (as you do!)

I didn't get chance to write anything after the show at Hugglets as I went down with the dreaded swine flu at the actual show. By the time we got home, I went straight to bed and was ill for a week and then had the complications in the form of a stubborn chest infection which is on its 3rd course of antibiotics and only just easing. So all my plans to have 3 calm weeks before travelling to Japan never happened. The long walks with the dogs, the various things I wanted to have time to go shopping for (saved a fortune!) the food I was going to cook and leave in the freezer, bears I needed to make ready to bring etc etc. It just never happened. All I did was go to the doctors 3 times! And then get up for my first full day on the day I had to fly 12 hours. Not ideal but I managed it and I am here and finished a nice little 13" alpaca bear in a peachy colour today.

People seemed to enjoy watching him being created, and I even had one lady virtually sitting on my shoulder watching the nose stitching from behind me. I was worried I would poke her in the eye with the needle if she got any closer! Lots of nice people practiced their English on me and all apologised that it wasn't very good - which is a shame they feel like that when my Japanese is non-existent. That was another thing I was going to do in that 3 weeks.... Oh well.

So no photos this post but just to say hello from a different side of the world this time and let you know what is happening.

Apparently we are getting a typhoon tomorrow which doesn't seem to alarm them in the least but I have to say I am absolutely terrified. When I asked what will happen I was told it will rain very hard and be a hurricane, and be dangerous to be out but we still have to go to work. Wish me luck please cos I am very scared.

Will let you know (hopefully!) how I survived!

I can't believe what hard work it has been making all the bears, and then getting them all ready - photos, labels, layout, packing etc but its all done now! Phew. And I just had a lovely lunch and coffee out with Keith at a local Italian deli just down the road. The table wasn't big enough for all the plates! Getting ready for a show makes you hungry!

Hello again, yet another month has whizzed by. I must be getting old because it doesn't seem like a month since I updated my blog.

I am having trouble updating my website so although there are lots of Warren Bears, none of them are there for you to see. Sorry about that!

I have just sent another large box off to Japan

and now I am working on some bears for Hugglets in September. I haven't left myself much time!! I have a lovely dense, wavy, white mohair cut out for a larger 17" bear and am in the process of stuffing a 13" panda cub who is looking very cute. I found out that I didn't have another bag of stuffing up in the loft as I had thought I had, and then had to wait over a week for a delivery of another 25kg consignment of it as the factory was on holiday! Its unusual for me to work on more than one bear at a time, so I am not sure which to do first! I have a head full of ideas but not very much time, so must get cracking.

We just had a wonderful 2 weeks down in Cornwall and completely relaxed and enjoyed the beaches and cream teas, fresh seafood, pasties and sunshine etc etc. I really didn't want to come home this time. The dogs had a great time too, racing along empty beaches, barking at peregrine falcons and hang gliders, and Meg tried desperately to catch a seagull which was very entertaining!

We also had another great trip to the zoo this weekend to visit the new Orang utan that has come to keep Rajang company. He was a real sweetie but very shy, and went about with a blanket over his head all the time!! Most cute. We loved watching the antics of the squirrel monkeys too, and the chimps. It was a really fun day with just us two grown ups. It felt really strange not to have some sort of child with us, so Keith had a children's lunch pack from the

cafe instead! Actually it was nice, and healthy too.

Anyway, enough of this, as its not getting those bears stuffed! I will put up the pics as I make them so you can see that I am making an effort for Hugglets!!

Its nearly the end of July! Where did this month go???

Oh dear, I hadn't realised that it was a month since I last blogged - sorry. Where has the time gone? Oh yes, thats right, I had shingles again so that was 2 weeks wiped off, but since then I have been very busy. There are a few new Warren Bears sitting on the shelves taking the place of the ones who went to Japan last month. And a new little Warren Bunny has happened too, just for fun! Here he is, wanting to show off

as only bunnies do (Bears are much more modest and happy to wait until I get around

to taking their pictures) and also a certain friend of mine in Welsh Wales was impatient to meet him too. As yet he hasn't got a name, so any suggestions will be welcome.

I have been loving doing reflexology treatments and some Tibetan Acupressure head massage too so life has been fun, busy and I seem to be constantly tired.

It's been lovely to get out for a few walks with the dogs again too, despite the rubbish weather. What happened to the "Barbecue Summer" they predicted. It had better heat up a bit before I hit the beaches of Cornwall. It won't be quite the same in a raincoat!

Anyway, the pond is getting more naturalised now, pics coming soon, it has a smart path to it too so I won't have the horror of worm casts all winter (I really hate them!) and Meg is no less fascinated than she was 2 months ago when it was dug.

"She will soon get used to it and ignore it" from he who thinks he knows it all, is as accurate as the amazing summer weather forecast!!

So there we go, July in a few sentences. Beary pics and pondy pics will follow in a day or two I promise.

What have I been up to the past 7 weeks?? Well......

Well, what a very long time since I wrote anything. I have been very busy having shingles and being really unwell. However I am feeling a lot stronger now, and life has been quite full still with no regard for my illness!!

Just this week for example, on Monday I had a lovely lunch out with Keith and a wander through St James' Park afterwards which was a treat.

Then on Tuesday, I had a little mission (for my best friend who lives in SA) to go to the Radley shop in London (WHAT a hardship!!) to get a handbag in the sale for her, and it would have been rude to not buy myself a lovely purse while I was there >:-))

We took in the Liz Earle shop too and stocked up as I just love her stuff and then my friend (who had also succumbed to a number of new handbags in the sale) treated me to a Lebanese lunch. Wow! Never had that before and I loved it too!

Today I spent most of the day finding boxes, getting quotes and posting bears off to Japan.

I always hold my breath for a week after that until I know they are all there safely!

More bears to make for them, and bears to make for Hugglets in September, but in the meantime I am off to Berlin tomorrow for a few days which should be really fun. I haven't been there before, but am looking forward to it as the hotel has a spa. Say no more!

Oh yes, and last week I qualified as a reflexologist. I am so excited (and proud) because its been 2 years of hard study to get to this. So now I will be dividing my time between my beloved bears and doing lovely reflexology treatments (I hope)

Well, I have put up some pics of a few of the little ones that have just started their journey, and hope you think they are sweet.

Oh and whilst I was being ill, Keith and Andrew dug a pond in the garden which is an ongoing project but one of our little dogs, Meg, just LOVES the pond. She is always to be found by it, and sometimes IN it!

Andrew has done his GCSE's and finished the last one today, so we celebrated with yummy chocolate brownie with added treats in (maltesers and rolos! Try it! Its wonderful! They melt in and mmmmmmmmm.........)

And here is a pic of a little visitor we had the other evening. Gave Keith quite a shock as he was doing the watering!

38 Naughty Norfolks went to the woods today........

Well what a laugh we had today!

It was the annual NORFOLK TERRIER WALK for the South of England. There were 38 waggy Norfolk tails and an assortment of Otter Hound, Labradors and German Shepherd trying to sneak in.Oh and a very bouncy Border Terrier too.

What utter chaos!

It was a glorious and sunny day and we met and chatted for half an hour first whilst they all showed their attitude when on leads. Then off with the leads and into the woods,

and if our 2 hadn't had trendy little blue bandanas on (courtesy of my friend Sue- hers are the red team!) we would never have seen them again.

I thought I knew what my dogs looked like but I can tell you, when 38 of them are running riot in the woods, they all look pretty similar and it was only the bandanas that made us sure we had the right dogs at the end!

It involved a lovely long walk

to the top of Holmbury Hill with wonderful views for miles and

miles, a team photo at the top,

and then long walk through bluebells etc back down, via a few very

muddy puddles and a swim in a pond for some of them

(and of course, ours were in the "some". yuk!)

Then we all piled onto the field for a really fun picnic and this year no dogs escaped into the middle of it to run riot amongst the food (as happened last year to our huge amusement as it wasn't our picnic that was affected!)

We wondered about bathing them when we got home, but we went off to a christening and then were drinking champagne, and it just didn't happen. Now its evening and they are in the house........and they stink!

I wish we had done it when we got home.....

I had the BEST day on Saturday!

It was my Birthday, and it started with some lovely pressies from my family and friends, and a piece of yummy cake made by Vianney and Vicky, and then we went off to the zoo for the day. Keith had bought me an ORANGUNTAN experience and I have been very excited about it for months now, and finally, the day had arrived! I just love Orangutans, and even though sadly, Colchester Zoo only has one now at the moment as their female died a few months back, Rajang is a pretty majestic old boy at 41 and I was really looking forward to it.

We love Colchester zoo, its just such a fun day out.

We fed elephants by hand.

We were in the front row for the penguin feed, where they bring them into a room for them to look at the humans!

We just loved the monkeys and all their antics and for Vianney it was his first trip to a zoo and first time to see most of these animals which made it even more fun. But the best bit was my time spent with the keeper and learning more about Rajang. He is such a soulful old thing, and he looks deep into your eyes.

I won't bore you with all the details, (like I have done to my family!) but it amused them to take photos of me in a zoo cage, and I was thrilled that he reached out and touched my hands and was intrigued by my bright pink nail varnish. He made a face and noise that his keeper said is his "happy reaction" and to think a wild creature chose to touch me is very special. We came home to an orangutan cake

made by Keith which caused much amusement with the children but I thought he did a brilliant job.

A couple of weeks ago, I had another wonderful treat too, despite the best efforts of the French fishermen to try and wreck it! We went with some very good friends to Giverny, near Paris, to Monet's beautiful gardens. I just love it there and this is a lovely time of year to see them. We had great fun together and it was so nice that they loved the gardens and area as much as we do. Here a just a few photos to help you realise that you need to go and visit them too!

The food is amazing too as you can see..... mmmmm happy memories...

..oh and I AM making bears too.

Introducing my new little friend FUREVER......

Feeling I have some energy again finally, (after waiting more than 8 months for it!) I wanted to celebrate by making a bear again. I haven't been able to make any since early February and its lovely to be back in the bear room again.

Here is FUREVER. He is about 8¾ inches tall and 6 inches when sitting. He is made from beautiful pale gold soft mohair and has cheery gold cashmere sculpted pads, a soft mink nose, and airbrushed eyes and ear tips. He has a little wobbly head (but not too wobbly!!) and a look of curiosity!! He is a real little sweetie. I don't make tiddlers very often, I don't know how miniature bear makers have the patience!

I am so happy to have energy again and really hope it lasts for a while this time. I attribute it to having had 3 reflexology treatments this past month - it really has made a huge difference.

We are dog sitting this week for some friends golden labrador, Oscar, who is a real sweetie and has fitted in very well with our two little terriers who adore him.

On Sunday we all went off to the beach as it was so gorgeous and Oscar was squinting in the sun so I helped him out with some sunglasses!

He seemed to be quite happy wearing them....

Anyway, I am off to make another bunny now as it is Easter, so

watch this space in a day or two.

Sheep Rustling

I haven't had any time or good health to be making bears for ages now, February for the show was the last time and I am itching to get back to my sewing table and start using some of the lovely fur I bought at Hugglets.

In the meantime however, here is what we got up to last week!

Our church wanted something newborn for a children's service on creation and so after asking around, we were very kindly told we could borrow a lamb. Well, I can't tell you how excited I was, and I even made Keith take a day off so he could come and collect it with me and take a photo! So off we went, last Wednesday lunchtime to collect our newborn lamb - still not believing how kind and trusting they were to let us borrow her, and THIS industrial 'nearly sheep' was brought out to the car!!

She seemed to enjoy her little drive and was as good as gold, and no, she didn't do anything unpleasant in my car either. We did have one hairy moment when we had to pull up alongside a police motorbike at a junction and he looked down into the car. I wonder what he thought he had seen!!

She is called Jill!

Hmmm. Not really small, white, fluffy, or cute either!

But she did turn out to be incredibly sweet natured as she charmed our Rev.....

The tiddlers all got to have a little stroke (and then dutifully had their hands washed - just in case any heath and safety people are reading!!) and I think we got away with it and they thought it was newborn! Poor Ewe.....

Another thing that has amused us this week is this little video I was sent. My daughter has put it on her blog too as it is so sweet. (She did it first and I am copying her cos I am new to all this!)

The bunny has landed!

(Not the day I expected it to be!)

So (and I KNOW you should never start a sentence with so. SO? !) I woke up and thought "hmmm its going to be a good day - I am nearly done, just a little matter of ribbons for the new bunny and then I can stop and rest."

Feeling like it was going to be a more relaxing day, I decided to start it with a lovely long walk in the fields and woods with Alfie and Meg, our little Norfolk Terriers (teddy bear dogs). It was grey and damp but all was well, they had a great run about chasing smells and elusive rabbits and squirrels and we were out for an hour and I felt a good and kind owner! Then it was off 2 miles to the ribbon shop as I couldn't put it off any longer. Should have only taken 20 minutes in total and then I could say I was finished........ Best laid plans of mice and men? .....Famous last words?......

The shop had a nice little notice in the door saying that it was SHUT DOWN. I should have been alerted by the empty interior I suppose. Apparently they had moved to Sevenoaks, so that was a half hour drive away. I only had 50p in change which meant I only had half an hours parking, and I hadn't thought to write down the address. Sevenoaks is quite big, and very spread out. Hey ho, I got there, parked easily, and even found the shop easily............but no ribbons anymore. I just couldn't believe it. This bunny NEEDED a ribbon, didn't they understand?? I was mooching round the shop in a not too gracious mood when tucked away on the bottom shelf behind the counter I spotted it! Perfect! A lovely fluffy girly thingy, and great colour, and I even treated her to a whole reel of cotton so she could have matching nail varnish on her cashmere pads!

(If anyone wants an almost complete reel of thick dusky rose thread please shout!)

You have already met Benjamin, but here is Bonita.

She is beautiful dense creamy white mohair, with cashmere pads and ears in deepest aubergine, and of course, the new nail varnish to match her thingy (what are they called??) Hope you like her, and hope to see you on Sunday at Hugglets.

Meet the latest additions...

Well, the Warren Bears machine has been working overtime this week - if only it was a machine, maybe it would make life that bit easier! However, I'm hoping the hard work has been worth it. I'll let you decide for yourself, by introducing you to this little lot. One or two of them may look familiar, as a couple have made appearances on this blog (in the previous post) but I thought it was time to introduce them all in a bit more detail...

First up, we have the rather dashing Arthur, a 13" laughing bear, made from a rich gold alpaca, with lovely cashmere pads. He is sporting a very sophisticated, hand-knitted, chocolate duffle coat.

The second introduction to be made is this 'Little Handful' bunny called Benjamin. If you have read any Beatrix Potter, you may well know of his namesake! Benjamin is a 9" little chap, made from Japanese alpaca, with cashmere sculpted pads and another Warren Bears speciality: a hand-knitted waistcoat. He'll soon have some cute little whiskers too!

Next up we have Bertie, another 9" Little handful, made from gold mohair, also sporting those popular sculpted cashmere pads and a smart little hand-knitted red waistcoat. This cheeky little chappy will be there to greet you on my stand should you visit us at the show on Sunday, along with all the others.

Now time to introduce a lady to this - thus far male dominated - collection! Meet Bethany, a very elegant 12" bear made from cream and 'honey cream' alpaca, with luxurious cashmere pads. Only the best for Bethany, she carries off her velvet hat and matching bow just beautifully!

Sticking with the girl theme, may I introduce Jenny, another very feminine little 8" bear, made from white, short-pile mohair. She is dressed up ready for the outdoors in a gorgeous little hand-knitted, pink scarf. She prefers pretty, girly colours to the elegant, lady-like style carried off by the likes of Bethany!From two little ladies to a real old gentleman, we move on to this 21" huge hug, named Mister! He is made with two varieties of wispy mohair: pure caramel and caramel with dark tips. His paw pads are ultrasuede and, just to complete his cuddly bear look, he's wearing a lovely big red bow. He will be looking out for you on Sunday, ready and waiting with a warm hug!

Now onto some pairs of bears for you to meet! Firstly, meet Noah and Alf, two 13" bears made from delicious, butterscotch mohair and a deep copper mohair. Both have cashmere pads and wobble heads. They can be bought individually or as a pair - they just like to be photographed together.

They say a dog is a man's best friend but at Warren Bears HQ, we've found that it's very possible for dogs to be friends with bears as well. These two photos are the proof of that, surely?!

Their names are Tony and Puppy, a multi-poseable bear in caramel wispy mohair and hand-knitted waistcoat and his little puppy, made with gold and white mohair. Tony will lie back in a particularly chilled out fashion, swing his legs over a shelf or mantle piece edge, or just sit like a good bear.

And finally.... here is a work in progress and it is not for the faint-hearted. My daughter used to find such sights rather distressing when she was younger, but just be glad it has a head! This little bunny is giving me the run-around but will make its very own appearance on this blog as soon as it is completed. It'll hopefully be accompanying all the others to the show on Sunday, providing it behaves itself between now and then!

Preparing for Hugglets - February 22nd 2009 at Kensington Town Hall

Well I am working away on new bears for Hugglets next weekend. It's slow progress, but I have five little sweeties sitting on the shelves of my workroom eagerly awaiting some new friends to be created.

Here is a very cute little chocolate bunny to start with.........

There is a lovely 21" cuddle

made from dense and curly mohair. I have made his legs, arms and ears with a deep chocolate tip and his head and body with the under colour, and he has a multi layered hand stitched nose. He is finished with a lovely wired ribbon in deep red with hearts on (well, it IS that time of year!)

Then there is a cheeky little lad with bent legs so that he can either sit, lay back chilled out fashion, or sit on a shelf edge or mantlepiece with his legs swinging over! Very versatile.He has a little handknitted waistcoat to keep him warm in this horrible weather we have here.

Beary Early Days...
